Tech Life Chapter 835-836

 Chapter 835

When the motorcade first pulled into the campus, it caused no ripples as some students from around the world, clutching books and carrying bags, walked quickly along the road.

Most of them just looked at the convoy curiously, with very faint eyes, and some even didn't even glance at it.

Through the window, Li Linfei didn't see much sitting on the lawn discussing his studies, as it wasn't a good day and it looked like it was about to rain.

The caravan quickly crossed the campus of the MU Business School and eventually stopped in front of a very modern auditorium.

Li Linfei got out of the car and saw an old man in a suit with his hair trimmed to the nines ushering a few people up with him.

"Mr. Li Linfei, it's a pleasure to meet you." The old man extended his hand and looked at Li Linfei warmly.

Su Yang shook hands with him briefly, "Hello, Mr. Meyers."

Beside him were several people, his assistants, members, school directors, school councilors and renowned professors from the business school.

After the brief handshake session, Li Linfei turned his head to look around and noticed that the steps leading to the auditorium in front of him were covered with a red carpet, and on either side of the carpet stood many men and women with cameras.

It was easy to see that those were some news reporters, and some of the guys who were interested in him as a person, and who had waited for him here in advance after receiving the news that he was going to speak at the MU Business School.

Meyers made an inviting gesture and said, "Mr. Li, the auditorium is ready, and many of your admirers have come to the venue, and they are all very much looking forward to your speech ...... Of course, I am personally looking forward to it as well."

Li Linfei: "Thank you. I will try my best to give a speech, and I hope I won't disappoint you."

While Li Linfei was being polite with Meyers, many people around him were observing him and talking about him.

Many of them had seen him in the newspapers, but compared to the reality, the newspapers still lacked some authenticity.

"Is he Li Linfei? That guy who's the richest man in China and made it to the top 10 of the rich list, he looks so young!"

"Nonsense, I heard he's not even 20 yet, of course he's young."

"He looks handsome and has a nice body, not at all the thinness of a yellow man, I thought those pictures in the newspaper before were all P's."

"A guy who is both handsome and rich, I wonder how many girls are going to suffer in the future."

"So young to be lecturing at MU, I envy him."

"I'm curious to see what he'll be speaking about later, I've heard that some people are planning to give him a hard time this time."

"Just watch the show, I don't mind a spirited Chinese entrepreneur who becomes frustrated and ashamed after seeing the magic and greatness of the United States of America."

"Don't underestimate him, he's not easy."

        ......

With Meyers leading the way, Li Linfei led his men along the bright red carpet and into the auditorium.

Ornate crystal lamps draped beneath a high vaulted ceiling illuminated the space, flanked by various head portraits of people Li Linfei did not recognise with burgundy velvet drapes.

Following a more vibrant red carpet, Li Linfei crossed the aisle and stood next to a grey and red lecture table under the gaze of many cameras and eyes.

As he looked out, apart from the bright lights, the most conspicuous thing was a camera equipment.

The layout of the auditorium was different from the one Li Linfei had seen at Zhongnan University, with fan-shaped divisions that were drawn backwards in turn.

The auditorium was not large, and Li Linfei counted roughly that there were about 300 seats.

What made him feel less out of place, however, was that those seats were full, and people who arrived one after another were standing directly on top of the aisles because they had no seats.

In addition, he was told that his speech would be broadcast live on the official website of the University of Missouri, and would be seen by the American internet users.

Li Linfei had no problem with this.

Although he was here, nominally for an academic exchange, he knew that it was just a front.

It was just a formality, and he would bolt after the lecture. Although MU was a top academic mecca in the world, which was great, it had nothing to do with him.

Myles walked over to the lecture table and said into the microphone, "Silence, please!"

His not-quite-loud, but unusually thick voice silenced the cacophony of chatter and the auditorium quickly quietened down.

Meyers: "Today is a special day because we are privileged to have Mr. Li Linfei, a famous entrepreneur from China and the founder of the Future Technology Group - to tell us about his experience and share his success ......"

"Next, let's give a round of applause to Mr. Li Linfei ......" Meyers took the lead in applauding, and with the cooperation of the audience, a loud applause rang out in the auditorium.

Meyers turned around and walked over to Li Linfei and gave him a slight greeting, "Mr. Li Linfei, next is your time, I look forward to your speech."

"Thank you." Li Linfei thanked him and walked slowly and methodically to the lecture table, looking around the room as he said in English, "Good afternoon everyone. My name is Li Linfei, from China, and I am very happy to be here with you today."

"I was really honoured when MU invited me to speak not long ago."

"But I am not, by nature, a man of words, and as Mr Meyers said earlier, the purpose of my standing here is to share and exchange experiences with you all."

        "......"

After some self-introduction, Li Linfei entered the topic of this speech.

Chapter 836

Li Linfei's speech was not very long, it took more than twenty minutes for him to finally give a cursory overview of what he had to say and what he was going to say.

There were no novel ideas, just some rather pristine experiences in the business and ...... chicken soup. Although, when going as an audience to listen to other people's speeches, Li Linfei doesn't like chicken soup.

However, when he stood on the stage to speak as a speaker, he was again helpless to find ...... really smells good.

Chicken soup is a good thing, it can invariably improve the B-grade, but also water through a speech that is not too short, and still let people can not pick any fault. Next, it was on to the question and answer session.

A young American guy who was named got up from his seat and took the microphone handed to him by the staff and said, "Mr. Li Linfei, I personally admire you very much and feel that you are a role model for our younger generation. When I heard that you would be speaking at MiU today, I came here at 5am to take my place, only to find out that your speech would not start until the afternoon. "

There was much laughter and Li Linfei laughed too. After a few whiny words, the American guy hurriedly asked a proper question, "I'm very curious how you managed to make the Future Technology Group so huge and become the richest man in China within two years."

Li Linfei thought for a moment and said with a smile, "Someone asked a similar question when I was in China, and you are not the first person to ask such a question."

"The answer I give to this type of question is: luck."

        "......"

In response to the word luck, Li Linfei did a patchwork of east and west, roughly, similar to what he had said during his speech at home.

And in fact, what he said was correct.

The luck element was indeed indispensable to the development of future technology to such a large scale.

Of course, the luck component is not the main factor either, but there is no need for Li Linfei to give the Americans too much of a lecture on this, just find something reasonable to put off and forget about it.

This is also the practice of many well-known American entrepreneurs when they go to China to give speeches.

A blonde girl in her 26s or 27s with a nice figure asked, "Mr. Li Linfei, I came here today because I want to know what it takes to be successful, I don't want to hear any big ideas, can you tell me some practical ways?"

Li Linfei rubbed his chin and said with a smile, "I understand what you mean, don't talk nonsense, don't talk about anything else, just talk about how to make money, right?" The blonde girl nodded her head.

Li Linfei said, "Here, I have to remind you that your mentality is not right, you can't rush everything, there is an old Chinese saying: you can't eat hot tofu in a hurry."

"It means that the more you get inside the freshly made tofu, the fresher and hotter it is, the more anxious you are to eat it, the more you will be scalded and spit it out, and if you force it down you will also burn your oesophagus, the implication is that too much haste will not achieve your goal instead, and the loss will not be worth the gain."

"Nowadays the world is prosperous, but at the same time it is also impatient. Very often, when I see others doing well, others succeeding, while I am still standing still or making little progress, many people will be unconvinced and anxious, and will think of going to struggle and specialise immediately, and then surpass others." "Struggle and specialise, both positive words, nothing wrong with that, but if you use them in the wrong place, it can lead to disaster, for yourself or your family."

"If you want to succeed, first of all, look at any problem and be positive and optimistic, no one in this world is perfect and the world cannot be perfect because the world is made up of millions of imperfect people, your duty is to be a little more diligent, a little more hardworking and a little more idealistic than others, and your world will be better. "

Carelessly, without holding back, Big Boss Li started to pour chicken soup to this group of foreigners again, never mind whether they were happy about it or not, first pour it on, it is impossible for a very successful person not to pour chicken soup.

Li Linfei continued, "Secondly, do not be impatient, do not be eager when you see others doing well, the more this time, the more you need to stay calm and think carefully about where your strengths lie."

"The worst and worst outcome is that you have no advantage over them, and at this time, you may become very discouraged and feel that the world is unfair and that society has abandoned you."

"But you must not be discouraged, although you have no advantage, you have one place where you can compete with them, and that is - in ten years' time."

"You have to believe that in ten years' time you are comparable to them today, so as long as everything you do is with that goal in mind, then in ten years' time you can definitely compete with them, if it's just today, then you won't be able to compete anyway."

"As for the actual way you want to make money, I can't give you that because everyone's path is different, and what works for me to follow, doesn't necessarily work for you."

        "Okay, next."

There were many ways to actually make money, such as the various software and games that had sprung up because of the current smart terminals.

However, Li Linfei was under no obligation to tell this blonde foreign girl that he was just here to pour chicken soup.

After four or five questions in a row, a guy who was about a news reporter, asked, "Mr. Li, because of the ripples that the graphene chip has made in the semiconductor industry, causing the market value of inter to drop repeatedly now, countless investors to go bankrupt, many factories in the related industry chain to close down, and tens of thousands of workers to lose their jobs, for this, there are many people who think you will take the main responsibility, do you have What do you have to say?"

The side of the lectern. An older man, who was probably a professor at the MU business school, whispered to Myles, "Dean, is this really a good idea?"

"What are you talking about?" Myles asked back with a smile.

The old man said, "Li Linfei was invited to Harvard only to be met with such pointed questions at a public lecture, when word gets out, I'm afraid it will tarnish MU's reputation, don't you think."
